The UEMS is proud to have renewed the cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Health of Spain, and the Spanish Medical Association (OMC) to promote and harmonise the training and accreditation of Spanish doctors.
The purpose of this agreement is to make sure that the UEMS-EACCME® ECMECs (European Continuing Medical Education Credits) earned are fully recognised in Spain. This means that when a doctor takes part in accredited activities and is awarded ECMECs, there is an official process in Spain to validate and certify the credits for professional development.
The Spanish Ministry of Health has confirmed that the UEMS accreditation system meets the highest standards of quality. As a result, the ECMECs that doctors obtain through UEMS-EACCME are accepted in Spain as official training credits. These credits can be counted not only towards ongoing professional development but also in support of doctors' career progression.
